How to buy paintings and other art at a live auction

The company 1. ART CONSULTING BRNO CZ, s.r.o. holds art auctions several times a year in Topič Salon at Národní 9, Prague. The auction day is always preceded by a 14-day pre-auction exhibition which is free to attend and open every day, including holidays, Saturdays, and Sundays.

Here you will find a brief description of how to participate in the auctions. The detailed auction procedure is described in the Auction Rules. These are included in each auction catalogue.

1. In person during an auction in Topič Salon

you need to register before the start of an auction in the hall of Topič Salon (proof of identity of the bidder – ID card, passport – is required)
after successful registration, you will receive a bidder’s number that allows you to directly participate in the auction

2. By telephone

if you cannot or do not want to attend any auction in person, you can bid by telephone
you may register for telephone bidding by filling in a power of attorney and sending it to our office; your participation in the auction will be confirmed by our operators
we will call you during the auction and bid for your item according to your instructions
you may register using the online form, which is available by clicking the Register to Auction button. The button is placed after publication of the auction on the website www.acb.cz in the main preview of the live auction or in the preview of each item from the live auction.

3. By fixed limit

if you are interested in any of the auctioned items, you may set a bidding limit to which we will bid on your behalf in the auction.
you may win the item for a lower price provided the hammer price is less than your limit and you are the highest bidder
you may register using the online form, which is available by clicking the Register to Auction button. The button is placed after publication of the auction on the website www.acb.cz in the main preview of the live auction or in the preview of each item from the live auction.

4. Online (in a hall auction via LiveBid.cz portal)

if you cannot or do not want to participate in an auction in person or by telephone, you can still bid from your desktop, tablet, or smartphone...

After registering on the LiveBId.cz portal, you will be allowed to set your bidding limits. This can be done at any time from the publication of the auction to its very start (set the highest amount that you are willing to bid). If another bidder offers more than your limit, you will receive an email notifying you that you have been outbid. The deadline for setting online limits is always one hour prior to the start of the live auction. This is followed by a live hall or internet auction. Before the start, a live auction window will open on your computer (available at www.LiveBid.cz) where you can watch the auction or bid for selected items and thus actively participate in the auction.
