In 1951 he finished his studies at VŠUP in Prague, and decided to continue in further studies at DAMU in Prague, where he finished in 1954. In the period of 1960-70 he was a member of artistic group UB 12. Stanislav Kolíbal is one of the most outstanding characters of the contemporary Czech fine art, and an important representative of conceptual art. He is one of the very few, whose quality of work is appreciated worldwide. His artwork is represented in some of the most important world’s museums, galleries and private collections. One man exhibits of Stanislav Kolíbal were organised in Genoa, Milan, Turin, London, New York, Washington, Berlin, Munich, Budapest, Vienna, Paris, Prague and in a wide array of other cities.
