provenance: Important German Collection (the owner bought the artwork at Stazewski’s atelier in 1970s) Henryk Stazewski was a pioneer of the European avant-garde of the 1920s and 30s, as well as a key representative of the constructivist movement and geometrical abstraction of the 1960s and 80s. He was a painter, designer, a founding member of the ‘a.r.’ Artist Group (other members include. Legér, Ernst, van Doesburg, Arp, Baumeister, Foltýn, Schwitters, Marcoussis, Gleizes and others). His artwork is represented at the foremost world museums, galleries and private collections of Modern art.
