On a blind frame there is original Čapek’s note written in pencil: ‘Josef Čapek: Hunters,’ and another note: ‘the property of Olga Scheinpflug.’ There are also labels from the following exhibits: ‘Umělecká beseda’ in Prague 1935, Prague Riding School and Vychodoceska Gallery in Pardubice (2009-2010) Provenance: 1935, art collector Josef Palivec bought the painting directly from Josef Čapek Since 1950s, the owner has been Olga Scheinpflug (the wife of Karel Čapek, the writer) An expert’s report by PhDr. Pavla Pečinkový Csc., the author of monographic publication and curator of Josef Čapek’s retrospective exhibit at the Prague’s Castle Riding School (7/10/2009- 17/01/2010) Exhibited: Umělecká beseda member exhibit, The Municipal House in Prague (January- February 1935), catalogue number 16 Josef Čapek’s retrospective exhibit, Prague’s Castle Riding School (7.10.2009-17.1.2010) Vychodoceska Gallery in Pardubice (3.3.2010-30.5.2010), catalogue number 136
