Václav Holzknecht was an important Czech pianist, musical scientist, journalist, critic, dramatist, organiser and teacher, founder of the musical festival Prague Spring, member of the Mánes group and a close friend of the painter Emil Filla and his wife Hana. Family of Prof.JUDr.Václav Holzknecht Restorer’s report by academic painter Věra Cedlová (restorer at the National Gallery in Prague) attached. Emil Filla- painter, graphic designer and art theorist. The leading figure of the Czech avantgarde. Member of the Osma group, since 1909 a member of SVU Mánes and in the period of 1911-1914 a member of the Artist Group.
